The Rev. Ivan Ruiz-Swartz
Fr. IvanĀ has been the rector of Saint James Parish since June 2026. He brings a deep interest in preaching, pastoral care, Christian formation, and community engagement with varied experience in parish ministry, nonprofit leadership, and outreach. He is committed to helping individuals and congregations grow in faith, deepen their spiritual life of prayer, and build vibrant Christian communities. He is originally from Central Pennsylvania where he encountered the Episcopal Church after six years within a Catholic Religious Community. He holds a Diploma in Anglican Studies from Sewanee School of Theology in Sewanee Tennessee.
He finds joy in the liturgical life of the church, lifelong formation, and equipping people with tools to live the the Way of Jesus with passion. When he is not at the parish, he enjoys cooking for friends, traveling with his husband Jason, and spending time with their two pugs, Leo and Diego.
