Iglesia Santa Cruz (Holy Cross Church) is one of 60 Episcopal parishes in the Dominican Republic. The relationship between St. James’ Church in Oneonta, NY, and the Dominican Episcopal community is over two decades old. St.James’ Church has a long-standing partnership with Iglesia Santa Cruz. The partnership involves exchanging prayers and sending food and medicine during the pandemic, as well as supporting mission trips for various necessary projects and medical needs.We have built churches and schools, as well as provided medical attention and necessary medicines for the people of Santa Cruz.

For over 100 years the Episcopal Church in the DR has nourished the mind and spirit of young people. Schools must be self-supporting because the diocese does not have the resources to subsidize them. St. James’ is active in a Scholarship Program that provides scholarships to young people in the DR. Each child needs $400.00 a year for tuition. Individuals or groups may donate and once $400 is reached, a scholarship will be sent. Please consider a small doation to help our students in Santa Cruz.
